Brookfield Renewable is proposing a 60-megawatt solar generation project for Greensville County in Virginia. The Meherrin Solar Project is Primarily located West of Pine Logging Road, East of Fountain Creek Road, and South of the intersection of Brink Road and Pine Logging Road. Another section is located East of Pine Logging Road and South of the Brink Substation. From project inception into operations, the Meherrin Solar Project will stimulate Greensville County’s economy. The Project will generate enough clean, renewable energy to power approximately 9,500 homes.
We recently submitted a new application to the Greensville County Planning Commission. This new application contained several changes based on feedback and consultation with stakeholders. Some changes include the following: 1. Increase setback along Pine Logging Road from 80 ft to 320 ft, specifically adjacent to the pond. 2. Removed panels to the North (near the cell tower location), improving the viewshed across Pine Logging Road. 3. Added 25 foot planted buffer to the North, improving the viewshed along Brink Road. 4. Adjusted service road and fence layout in southern portion to avoid impacts to wetlands 5. Opportunity to expand buffer along Fountain Creek Road
Please respect all fencing, signage and safety indications;
they are in place to ensure your safety and that of employees
and consultants working on the project.
